LAUREN OLSON
Lauren Olson comes from Rochester, Minnesota where she has been involved in theatre since the age of eight. She has appeared on stage in over two-dozen productions as more than thirty characters and has directed a number of pieces as well. Lourdes High School credits include Student Director of “The Odd Couple”, and Van Helsing in Crane Johnson’s “Dracula”. Rochester Civic Theatre credits include Margawse in “Merlin’s Tale of Arthur’s Magic Sword”, Gertrude in “The Fifteen-Minute Hamlet”, and co-director of several sessions of their Summer Theatre Institute. In the summers of 2001 and 2002, Lauren studied with the Commonweal Theatre in Lanesboro, Minnesota where she learned stage combat, contact improvisation, clowning, and beginning mask work. After graduating high school in 2005, she attended Luther College in Decorah, IA where she studied English and Theatre/Dance. While there, Lauren was selected to be in an ensemble showcase of first-year students and appeared as Jenny in a scene from “The Shape of Things”. In 2006, she took the year off from school to pursue acting in the Twin Cities and audition for BFA programs. Lauren was recently accepted to Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, Washington. An accomplished writer, she is currently working on her first novel in her spare time.
